Isco Reveals Why Madrid Don't Miss Ronaldo

Following the pre-season departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema already appears to be rediscovering his touch in front of goal, having scored four in three La Liga outings.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have combined for seven of those goals so far, and Isco says Ronaldo's absence is not being felt.

Ronaldo meanwhile is yet to score a competitive goal for his new side, who have also won their opening three games.

"Cris is an extraordinary player", Isco told reporters.

In Spain, Ronaldo managed more goals than games and hit at least 40 goals in every season except his first.

Isco added: "We're playing very well now; players who didn't score as many goals a year ago are now filling their boots".

"I worked, I tried to make [his decisions] hard for him, but a moment comes when you see it's impossible".

Ceballos has however played in three of Madrid's four competitive matches in 2018/2019 under new boss Julen Lopetegui and he was called up to the senior national team for the first time last week. "We hope to continue like this and I wish him the best at Juve".

Ceballos says the players were more upset with Ronaldo's claims he could leave Madrid after winning the Champions League final.

And Ronaldo has been touted as the man to help them end their wait to win the Champions League again.

"This is the gloss that is still missing".

The 27-year-old was seriously courted by Barcelona, Manchester United and Real Madrid, as both clubs look to change the course this season's title race.
