Bears hold on against Seahawks

And it doesn't seem to be for getting exhausted during games.

While the defense gave Seattle a chance with two interceptions and holding Chicago's offense to 17 points, the Seahawks' offense managed just two scores - a field goal and a touchdown - and Russell Wilson threw a pick-six in the fourth quarter as the Bears won 24-17. "If he starts going into a shell, then we all get into a shell".

He played 19 snaps, of the offense's 66.

"We'll see some guys come back next week", Carroll said.

So, the reason the starting running back on an 0-2 team that won't run the ball to support struggling passer Russell Wilson still hasn't gotten the ball since 11:51 remained in the second quarter Monday night has to be something else.

Are the Bears good again? The plays were short - the Bears had no play longer than 18 yards - but it was not the result of any loss of aggressiveness by a young quarterback who'd had less than distinguished success in previous tipping times. His head wasn't down. "There's always going to be stuff we've got to improve on, and we know that, but you've got to enjoy these W's, and we definitely did".

Since the numbers say it wasn't for lack of production or exhaustion, some are wondering if Carson may have done or said something to a coach or teammate on the sidelines during the game or in the locker room at halftime.

Ah well, not all wins are ideal, but given that John Fox's team won only seven home games in three seasons, this was as pretty of a win as we've had in these parts in some time. Schottenheimer led the NFL's top-ranked offense with the New York Jets a decade ago.

If you happened to have missed highlights from Monday night's game at Soldier Field, we got you covered (below). Of Carson being their lead runner. "[He's an] average quarterback".

Going to a hurry-up, Seattle chewed up 75 yards of field on 11 plays, including a 10-yard rush by first-round pick Rashaad Penny on the first play of the series. He had three carries the rest of the game.

The Seahawks were beaten 27-24 by the Denver Broncos in Week 1.

Like clockwork, Wilson, Carroll, and Schottenheimer will continue to preach that better days lie ahead for Seattle. Wilson didn't see Prince Amukamara coming on a pass attempt with about 6 1/2 minutes to go, and the Bears cornerback picked him off and eluded Wilson trying to make a tackle on his way to a 49-yard interception return. "He had to kind of double dip. But I feel like more time I'll get more comfortable". But, there is a fascinating story unfolding on the Seattle defense too, with newly-acquired linebacker Mychal Kendricks set to play on Monday night despite a pending jail sentence for insider trading. Trubisky finished 25-of-34 passing with two scores and the two interceptions. Seattle gained 1 on six total offensive plays in the entire third quarter.

"The fourth quarter showed us who we are and who we can be", Wilson said. It was my fault. "We needed to create havoc for him, and we did that today. And I shouldn't have done that". It stayed that way throughout it.
