Woman helps man short on cash, finds out he's Keith Urban

US woman pays for Keith Urban's snacks

On Friday night in Medford, it was a chance encounter one woman won't soon forget. As Olivia Prouse, a former student of Reed's, wrote on Twitter, Reed thought Urban was "down on his luck and couldn't pay for his Wawa snacks so she bought them for him".

"It was then I realized what an idiot I was", she said, according to the AP.

So this past Friday, when the customer in front of her at the Wawa on Route 541 in Medford was having an issue at the register, she jumped at the opportunity to help.

But as she was paying she thought to herself that the guy looked familiar.

Urban, who was in the area for his concert in Camden, popped up at the convenience store and a customer managed to grab a selfie with him and loan him a few bucks. That's when she told him he looked like Keith Urban.

"I said that he looked like Keith Urban and he said that he was", explained Reed in a Facebook post, which she adorably described as a "Ruth Reed moment".

"And I just fell apart, fell apart", she said.

Reed said that's when she noticed his body guards and realized she really had paid for Keith Urban.

Eventually she asked his bodyguard to confirm he was the singer.

"It looked like he was using a card and it didn't go through", Reed to KYW-TV. "I asked where Nicole [Kidman] was and who was the lady [he was with]".

Reed, who is very shy, has been getting a lot of attention over her interaction with Urban.
