The voice of BB8 is now the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog

Ben Schwartz Voicing Sonic the Hedgehog In the Forthcoming Film

That movie will apparently star Jim Carrey and James Marsden.

Parks and Recreation's own Ben Schwartz-who now plays Dewey on the DuckTales reboot and who will soon take on the role of Leonardo on Nickelodeon's new Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-once Tweeted he wouldn't stop until he "voiced every iconic '90s cartoon character in blue!"

Ben Schwartz is making a dash for Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog. There's Dewy from the new Duck Tales, who is blue.

Envisioned as a synthesis of live-action and CGI, the film is to center around Sonic and his friends Tails the fox and Knuckles the echidna. However, we all know who the most ridiculous cartoon character brought to life by Schwartz is.

The film will be taking a live-action/CG approach, with Marsden, Sumpter, Carrey and other actors interacting with Sonic and company in CG form. Deadpool 1 director Tim Miller is producing. So Schwartz will mix right in with the action, though it's unknown which other voice actors will be cast in the film to portray Tails and potential other characters. Fowler also co-directed the 2005 Oscar-nominated animated short "Gopher Broke". The film is now scheduled to hit theaters on November 15, 2019, so stay tuned for more.
