Kevin Harvick wins at Michigan, 7th win of year

"I don't know many drivers that have a primary sponsor with them". He claimed wins in the first two stages and then closed it out during the final stage.

What made matters worse during the pit stop was that the team was penalized a lap for an uncontrolled tire.

Harvick will continue his quest for playoff points in the four races that remain in the regular season.

Despite his dominant day, Harvick was definitely overshadowed after the race, as his six-year-old son, Keelan, went out on the track and collected the chequered flag at the finish line. "The motivation is to not let things slip through the crack, and they're covering all the details, and especially my group of guys that we're going on our fifth year together". You can see his entire projected leaderboard at SportsLine. "I go to each weekend as a reset point, thinking and feeling as though this could be the weekend where we have the speed to win that way or can execute that way, and I think you have to".

Harvick had a special ride to Gatorade Victory Lane.

Keselowski's runner-up finish was his 10th top-10 finish in 19 races at MI and his 12th top-10 finish this season.

He then climbed in his dad's number four Ford for a ride to victory lane, where he emerged from the auto to cheers.

"It was pretty cool today", Harvick said.

"We needed to get up front", Allgaier said.

"It's NASCAR racing. We knew there would be a late-race restart", Cindric said.

Currently SHR fields cars for Busch, Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer. He's won five races with the organization, and qualified for the playoffs each season. He was able to make it around to finish fourth.

Finishing second, 3.2 seconds back, was Brad Keselowski in the No. 2 Ford of Team Penske.

Ryan Blaney was third, followed by Kurt Busch and Austin Dillon.

Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch will start on the front row for Sunday's race. Behind Harvick on the NASCAR at MI odds board is Kyle Busch, who's listed at 7-2. After a William Byron and Martin Truex Jr. spin, it was Kyle Busch at lead. He held that spot until the end of the first stage.

The next issue for Truex came when he lost eight spots on a pit stop following the first stage.

Harvick won each of three stages and led 108 laps, more than four times more than anyone else on the 2-mile oval.

Kevin Harvick continues to dominate the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, and he's doing it with company by his side.

The XFINITY Series LTi Printing 250 is June 8 while the Gander Outdoors Truck Series Corrigan Oil 200 is scheduled for August 10.

"The most important thing is winning races and trying to get as many points as you can", Harvick told NBCSN afterward.

Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is NASCAR's fastest racetrack.
