DOOM Eternal Reveals New Gameplay

DOOM Eternal Gameplay Quake Con Trailer Bethesda Twitch reveal time Release date news

DOOM Eternal's armor modifications and improvements were shown off on stage.

Bethesda said today that there are twice as many demons as there were the last time, and a number of the enemies from DOOM 2 are being updated for this game.

To celebrate the new reveal at QuakeCon, Bethesda released a new press kit with new screenshots, details, and artwork of id Software's upcoming first-person shooter DOOM Eternal. Wow, ok, well. Doom Eternal has the flawless new feature for you: Invasions! Like in other games, invasions will optional, so you can choose to turn them off.

It all looked just as over-the-top and gory (without being too gross) as you'd expect and towards the end of the footage you can see Doomguy descend into a more organic-looking hellscape. The DOOM Slayer is a demon killing machine, and he goes pretty hard in this gameplay demo, slaying demon after demon in brutal style.

From what Id showed, it doesn't look like Doom Eternal is going for grand, cinematic exploration - all this scrabbling around is purely in service of getting you toward more demons to kill, faster. You can even team up and form a slayer hunting party.

Doom tethered the demonic alien hordes to the Martian hellscape and kept them well away from our home planet, but that all changes with Doom Eternal. Destroy every demon in your path with an upgraded array of guns and mods, including the Super Shotgun's new Meat Hook attachment to pull yourself point blank with the faces of hell. It's coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Interestingly, id Software also revealed Doom Eternal will let you take control of a demon and invade another players game.
