Don’t you dare let Pogba leave, Ferdinand tells United

Transfer news

French talisman Paul Pogba enjoyed a fairytale summer at the World Cup following a disappointing 2017/18 campaign at Old Trafford. Barca offered £45million plus defender Yerry Mina and midfielder Andre Gomes for the World Cup winning playmaker, but the Red Devils turned it down.

Pogba is also "understood to have sent a text message to Ed Woodward, informing United's executive vice-chairman of his desire to go, although the club flatly deny this".

BST: Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, now at MLS club DC United, has said he believes Jose Mourinho needs "maybe another signing or two" to launch a Premier league title challenge.

United can still receive offers for players after Thursday, but will not be able to pursue targets to replace Pogba.

"I hope someone can catch them - it would be nice, so hopefully Manchester United can".

The latter, so impressive for Colombia in Russian Federation, is also reported to have been part of a deal offered by Barcelona for World Cup victor Paul Pogba.

Pjanic joined Juve in the same summer that Pogba returned to United.
