Dead fetus reportedly found on plane at LaGuardia Airport

Dead fetus found on American Airlines flight out of Charlotte, says airline official | Charlotte Observer

The plane was parked by the American Airlines hangar - not at a gate - when the fetus was discovered. But at around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, the cleaning crew found the fetus hidden inside the toilet under sheets of toilet paper.

Fetus was thought to be 5 months along. It was the Airbus A321's only flight of the day.

The plane was later pictured being moved to a hanger as law enforcement began investigating the find. An autopsy is being performed on the fetus to determine cause of death.

A Chief Medical Examiner in NY tells the publication that they are "investigating what we believe to be a human fetus found deceased on an airplane" adding how they will "release determination when [the] investigation is complete".

The plane was being held at Terminal B while the medical examiner's office spent several hours onboard the aircraft. "Please contact law enforcement for additional information", an American Airlines spokesman said.

Sources also told CBS that the Port Authority Police and Queens' District Attorney's office are investigating to find out who is the pregnant woman in question. "We didn't find out until about 7:40 a.m. that the flight was going to be delayed".
