Chris Pratt Blockbuster ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Put On Hold Indefinitely

‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Movie Stopped In Its Tracks By Universal

Priyanka Chopra and Chris Pratts Cowboy Ninja Viking has been indefinitely delayed. According to reports, "Cowboy Ninja Wiking" was scheduled to begin shooting in the next month. Maybe the movie wasn't where they wanted it to be or maybe they actually wanted to get it right since they're hoping for a franchise hit.

The novel is about an assassin who posses the toughest skills of a Cowboy, a Ninja, and a Viking; hence the name.

When the film might score another release date remains to be seen, but Universal certainly seems to think it'll still get made; just not yet. Priyanka Chopra has been in talks to play the female lead alongside Pratt's Duncan, though her future involvement likely depends on when Universal decides to move ahead with the project. The studio didn't bother giving the movie a new release date, but word is that the production is still active and will happen eventually.

Game of Thrones alum Michelle MacLaren is still attached to direct the movie with the screenplay being written by Dan Mazeau, Ryan Engle, Craig Mazin, Paul Wernick and David Reese. Created by writer A. J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, Cowboy Ninja Viking is an Image Comics series about secret counter-intelligence agents with multiple personality disorders. She was originally set to make her feature film debut with Wonder Woman, but she bumped heads with DC and Warner Bros., and left under the guise of creative differences. The film will be produced by Pratt along with Michael De Luca Productions, Entertainment 360, and Mark Gordon under his Entertainment One banner.

It has been a rough couple weeks for Pratt, whose latest Guardians of the Galaxy sequel was dealt a blow when Disney fired James Gunn after some of his offensive old tweets resurfaced online.
