Chelsea FC urged to target 25-year-old England star

Sarri ready for showdown talks with Courtois

The goalkeeper's agent has said that he spoke to the club telling them that Courtois wanted to go to Real Madrid. If we work hard we can achieve a lot of things. "If they decide to leave, I think we will continue with fantastic players".

Speaking at a press conference the 59-year-old master tactician was asked about Courtois and if he will remain at the club, to which he replied, "Courtois?"

"I'm a Chelsea player", Willian told ESPN Brasil.

Angry but seemingly honest words from Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas have left Liverpool in no doubt that the deal is all but dead, and while fans may be resigned to this fact, seeing the attacking midfielder instead being acquired by a legitimate Premier League rival will surely infuriate, despite the extensive expenditure by their own manager J├╝rgen Klopp this summer.

But Sarri says the Belgian, who returns on Monday from post-World Cup leave, must explain his ambitions in person before Chelsea consider accepting a bid for him. I want only players with high level of motivation. Chelsea, on the other hand, have reportedly been reluctant to part ways with their star players, including the Belgian worldwide, as they look to return to the top of English football.

"I believe we can keep them here and keep them happy, but we will only see when we sit down with them". The West London club is now ineligible to play in the Champions League for the upcoming season and also fired manager Antonio Conte last month, bringing in former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

"We look forward to playing City at a great stadium like Wembley and even if we accept they are a great team, we have to believe we can match them", adds Sarri.

But Sarri has cooled speculation and played down any potential rift between player and club.
