Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin Have Awkward Exchange Before Panthers-Bills Preseason Game

AJ McCarron Josh Allen rank dead last in PFF QB rankings

Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton met up publicly and talked ahead of the Bills and Panthers preseason game Thursday.

Newton made a decision to approach Benjamin, who didn't seem inclined to talk, prior to the game. Benjamin didn't want to talk to Newton and he didn't want to talk to reporters about Newton, saying: "I mean, I'm just moving on from it I guess".

When Benjamin said Newton was an inaccurate passer last week, the quarterback didn't seem bothered by it. Benjamin answered questions about the exchange by saying he was "moving on", although when asked what Newton said to him, Benjamin responded, "I don't know". Nothing to see here, just a few position battles.

For those who haven't heard, Benjamin didn't hold back in his public criticism of his former teammate. The beef stems from this quote from Benjamin speaking to The Athletic on his time in Carolina.

Much of the discussion was inaudible from the video, but Newton did follow an agitated Benjamin as he attempted to walk away from the Panthers quarterback.

Benjamin had been pretty critical of the Panthers star in a recent interview.

After getting drafted by Carolina in the first round in 2014, Benjamin was sent to Buffalo for two draft picks ahead of the 2017 trade deadline. "I should've never went to Carolina".
