Sony faces growing Fortnite backlash at E3

Fortnite For Nintendo Switch Released

Gamers were already unable to share a Fortnite account between Microsoft and Sony's platforms.

"Sony has got to be very careful about how it manages the situation", Samantha Loveridge, associate editor of GamesRadar+ told the BBC.

Trying to log into the Switch edition of Fortnite with an account tied to the PS4 produces an error. That's unfortunate for anyone who wanted to play Fortnite with their friends regardless of what console they own.

The "Battle Royale Only" disclaimer means that you won't be able to use this outfit or back bling in the Save the World mode, so if you prefer that version of the game, this starter pack won't be for you. And for us we want to continue driving both of those platforms.

Several months ago, we declared Yoshi to be one of the most exciting Nintendo Switch games of 2018, with the side-scrolling platformer set to be a return to form for the company while also giving the titular green dragon a wonderfully colorful new adventure.

This leaves us with two major takeaways. Unfortunately, fans probably aren't going to be any happier after they hear what Sony has to say.

Complaints about the matter are already threatening to overshadow Sony's publicity efforts at the E3 video games show in Los Angeles.

That, as you can imagine, has a lot of people angry, and much of that anger is being directed at Sony at a time when the company's upcoming games should be getting a lot of attention. Imagine if the company had tried to pull the same with something other than a game. It looks more like the iPhone version of the game than the one you can play on consoles and computers. Sony's policy is so ludicrously anti-consumer that even long-standing PlayStation fans might be tempted to move to another platform. "We also offer Fortnite cross-play support with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, expanding the opportunity for Fortnite fans on PS4 to play with even more gamers on other platforms".

"With. more than 80 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network, we've built a huge community of gamers who can play together on Fortnite and all online titles".

That's a great response to a question nobody asked.
