Los Angeles prosecutors reviewing sexual assault case against Sylvester Stallone

Stallone’s lawyer DA trying to appease ‘#MeToo generation’ with sex assault case

A spokesman for the Los Angeles District Attorney confirmed the allegation was under review after being presented by the Santa Monica Police Department but did not provide further details.

"My client categorically denies the allegations", Stallone's attorney, Martin Singer, told CNN. Singer reiterated the statement to Deadline today. "We have nothing to hide here".

Law enforcement sources told TMZ back in December that an unidentified woman filed a report with Santa Monica police - "alleging a rape that occurred 27 years ago" while she was dating Stallone.

Berk could not be immediately reached for comment.

Santa Monica Police said in December that they were investigating a complaint that was made in November 2017 of alleged sexual misconduct in the 1990s by the actor.

Media reports over the past year have described at least two alleged incidents involving the 71-year-old "Rocky" star. The matter was dropped when she declined prosecution.

The increasing scrutiny on allegations against Stallone come in the wake of the #MeToo movement and reports about widespread sexual abuse allegedly perpetrated by Harvey Weinstein and other powerful men in Hollywood.

Stallone, who stopped by the White House last month after encouraging U.S. President Donald Trump to pardon the late heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson for his Mann Act violation, was previously accused of forcing a 16-year-old girl into a threesome with his bodyguard in Las Vegas in July 1986.
