Arsenal target Anthony Martial has told Manchester United that he wants to leave the club this summer, according to his agent.

One interview was all it took for Anthony Martial's agent to spark a massive reaction among Manchester United fans.

Martial arrived at the club from Monaco in 2015 for an initial fee reported to be £36 million, and enjoyed a strong debut campaign under Louis van Gaal, netting 11 league goals in 31 appearances - only two of which came from the bench.

A host of clubs have expressed an interest in signing the talented 22-year-old, including fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs.

"After reflecting carefully on all the possibilities and all the parameters, Anthony has decided he wants to leave Manchester United", said Lamboley as quoted on RMC Sport.

His woes at Manchester United cost him a place in the World Cup squad for France this summer, who are heading to Russian Federation looking to take back football's most coveted trophy.

The France striker's agent revealed that the player has chose to quit the club, while at the same time emphasising that the player was still under contract so agreement will need to be reached with United.

Asked if any clubs had made contact regarding Martial, Lamboley replied: "I can not say anything on the subject at the moment but you think that from the moment a player like Anthony is on the market a lot of clubs are interested".

He added that United have the final word on whether he will be allowed to leave. It is a well-considered decision. Today, Anthony is disappointed because he demonstrated for three seasons his love for the club and its supporters.

"But he got hooked and showed great professionalism and was successful".

Later the same month, Mourinho pointedly avoided answering a direct question about Martial's and Marcus Rashford's playing time, per Mike Whalley of the Telegraph.

Sky Sports have also reiterated reports that Tottenham are poised for a transfer after this week's comments. Anthony simply wants to play, enjoy football again.
