You Can Soon Shop These Popular Lord & Taylor Brands on

This is according to the New York Times, which reports that Lord & Taylor and Walmart are both referring to the new online store as a premium destination, reflecting both Lord & Taylor's need to reach a broader audience, and for Walmart to attract higher net worth individuals. The range of offerings will be updated "regularly", the company said.

The luxury department store chain, which formally announced a partnership with Walmart late past year, will earn a dedicated spot on the site's homepage, allowing it to market its extensive brand portfolio to the retail giant's estimated 100 million unique visitors every month, according to comScore data. Beyond women's and men's styles, the store will feature shoes, handbags, accessories and jewelry as well as kids' merchandise. "We are excited for the opportunity to serve exponentially more customers with our premium fashion offerings, including our famous dress selection and many stylish brands".

Walmart notes that customer browsing its online store over the next few weeks will see it start adding products from Lord & Taylor. This includes free two-day shipping on all orders that come in at $35 or more.

"As part of the redesign, and our commitment to establish as a destination for fashion, we recently relaunched our new fashion shopping experience", Denise Incandela, Head of Fashion at Walmart U.S. e-commerce, said in a statement. The retailer's new fashion landing page - which is part of its recent site upgrade - will soon offer shoppers two tabs: "everyday brands" and "premium brands".

The new is nearly here.

The companies declined to reveal financial details of the partnership.

Lord & Taylor, in turn, faces numerous obstacles that USA department stores are grappling with today. Each week, almost 270 million customers and members visit our more than 11,700 stores under 65 banners in 28 countries and eCommerce websites. Its parent, Hudson's Bay, has downsized the company as brick-and-mortar sales fall.
