Amidst controversy, the 65th National Film Awards ceremony has begun at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. To make it even more special, her elder daughter Janhvi chose to wear her mother's saree to the event.

Veteran actress Sridevi was posthumously awarded as the Best Actress for her role in "MOM". She was in this line for 50 years, done nearly 300 films.

Janhvi, an aspiring actress, wore one of her mother's sarees for what designer Manish Malhotra described on social media as an "emotional and precious moment". She has been around for 50 years and did about 300 films. "We feel elated, proud that she's been recognised for the hard work she's put in this film". It is a very proud moment for all us. The actress received appreciation from all over for her performance in the film with co-starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui. She has always given her best for all her films and finally, unfortunately, after she has left that she has been awarded with this honour.

In the movie, directed by Ravi Udyawar, Sridevi played a mother who sets out to avenge her step-daughter, essayed by Pakistani actor Sajal Ali. Speaking to news channels earlier, Boney said, "Sridevi would have been very happy today".

Boney expressed his gratitude towards the Indian government, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the jury, which was led by Sridevi's "Mr. India" director Shekhar Kapur. We miss her, it is a very proud moment at the same time.

Bollywood icon Sridevi, who was a superstar in three different film industries, passed away in February 2018 at the age of 54. He said that though she is not with them; her legacy will live on. Thanks to television and the digital era, she will continue entertaining people forever...
