'PUBG Mobile' update adds Miramar desert map, kicks off season 2

PUBG Mobile Gets Desert Map Miramar in Newest Update

All things considered, it sounds like the latest update for PUBG Mobile should nudge it closer to the PC version of the game in terms of content and quality.

Twitch has added new filters to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds streams to allow players to sort out streams based on the number of players alive.

Beyond the new map, filled with new weapons and vehicles to discover, the 0.5.0 update also kicks off Season 2, with new tiers to reach that will reward players with cosmetic items.

And while the most exciting aspect is the new map, I'm more excited about the progress missions.

The filters work in a similar way to the language filters, and you'll be able to see the results on the spot. Miramar is a barren desert, and adds loads of interesting wrinkles to the PUBG formula as there aren't many forests to hide in so you have to adeptly use the actual terrain to hide from enemies.

- Added local quick team feature: enter a 6-digit code to team up with friends that are next to you. Making it easier to join multiplayer matches and battle with your buddies.

That said, some people don't want to complete missions, or want to spend a few dollars and get stuff right away.

With the omnipresent rise of Fortnite, giving such a hardy update to PUBG Mobile is as much a move of developer care as it is of necessity.

- Added a Secret Stash, where you can purchase special discounted items. You can head over to Reddit for a full list and changelog.

The new update for PUBG Mobile also addresses some lingering issues with the game. That's a big one, and something a lot of players continue to complain about.
