Paparazzi scandal pitches Britain's royal wedding into crisis

Just a few hours after news that Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle wants to walk his daughter down the aisle broke out, a TMZ report claims that he will have a heart surgery on Wednesday morning and therefore, can not attend his daughter's wedding on Saturday.

The site later said Markle could not make the trip after all, thanks to a major operation scheduled for Wednesday to clear a blocked artery, fix coronary damage and put a stent in his heart to help keep the artery open.

British Airways announced it will celebrate the upcoming royal wedding by operating a flight crewed entirely by people who share the couple's names.

Obviously, though, this is significantly more serious and potentially life-threatening than all those faked paparazzi pic allegations.

Meghan wanted her father, Thomas Markle, to walk her down the aisle.

Almost two weeks ago, Kensington Palace confirmed that the former lighting director in Hollywood ― who now lives a low-key life in Rosarito, Mexico ― would be walking his daughter down the aisle on May 19.

Prince Harry's press office said Wednesday it had no additional comment beyond a statement made two days ago calling for "understanding and respect" for Markle's father, Thomas, "in this hard situation".

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is just a few days away and while Meghan's close friend and Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra has made it to the guest list, she hasn't found a place in Meghan's list of bridesmaids.

Along with the Mulroneys, this will be the first royal wedding they have ever attended. Unfortunately, Meghan's special day will be accompanied by a cloud of sadness as Meghan's father Thomas Markle will not be there to walk her down the isle.

But, she says, their outback wedding will be the "polar opposite of the royals".

He said he went to hospital on Monday complaining of chest pains and was put through a host of tests that found his heart had suffered "significant damage".

The news of Mr Markle's surgery comes as Meghan's estranged half-sister Samantha defended her father's decision to stage paparazzi pictures ahead of the wedding.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle Sr, has confirmed that he will not attend her wedding on May 19.

"I really think it stinks", she said.

And how validating would it be to see the soon-to-be Duchess of Sussex-who suffered enough racial abuse at the start of her relationship that Prince Harry felt he had to release a statement condemning the attacks-enter St George's Chapel on Windsor Castle with her African-American mother by her side?

Bookies are taking bets, and the odds-on favorite is her mother Doria.
