No, the Next STAR WARS Spin-Off Won't Focus on LANDO CALRISSIAN

Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian will be the focus of the next Star Wars Story film

"Lucasfilm informs us that there would have been a misunderstanding between our journalist and Kathleen Kennedy".

That's perhaps not too surprising, considering the buzz generated by Donald Glover's performance as the fan-favorite scoundrel in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Lucasfilm told Polygon Wednesday that a Lando spinoff would be something they'd like to do in the future, but it's not necessarily the next movie in the pipeline.

As it is, Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will launch Glover in the role premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday night. "A Lucasfilm representative told io9 that "[Kennedy] said it's something she'd like to do one day in the future". From the context of the interview, it seems Kathleen Kennedy is implying that it follows Solo: A Star Wars Story within the chronology of the Star Wars canon.

Even Jonathan Kasdan, the film's co-writer and die-hard Star Wars aficionado, spoke about his plans for a possible sequel involving bounty hunters, as he tried to include them in the new movie.

As told and re-told by French cinema publication Premiere, Kennedy acknowledged the reality that a Lando movie would be an enjoyable endeavor. "It would also be fun to tell the story of Han and Chewie..." . Forget about Obi-Wan Kenobi, though - Lucasfilm wants Lando Calrissian to be the focus of the next one.

"We think that the next spin-off will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian", Kennedy said.

I've literally not seen the movie yet so I don't know about the amount of Lando within, but I assume there's a lot yet never enough, if you know what I mean.

Right now, Donald Glover is absolutely on fire and he's being singled out as the best thing about Solo.
