‎The spokesman urged party members and aspirants to see the outcome of the primary as a collective victory for the APC and the people of Ekiti.

Reacting to President Buhari's congratulatory message to Fayemi, Governor Fayose tweeted on Monday: "President Buhari congratulating Fayemi on his emergence as APC candidate is like day-dreaming".

Congratulations to @kfayemi on winning the APC ticket to contest the July 14, 2018 governorship elections in Ekiti State.

Addressing journalists yesterday in Iyin Ekiti after a meeting with his supporters from the 177 wards in the state on his next move, Bamidele said the coming election is not just about Fayemi or any other, but about the party and to rescue the people from poverty and redeeming the state economy.

"Once Ekiti people come out enmasse and vote for the APC, we will defend our result and ensure that we reclaim what truly belong to us".

Ojo said he has no reason to dissent as a loyal party man, saying the party can only have a good and prosperous future if the party emerges victorious in the governorship poll. "Fayemi should not celebrate this pyrrhic victory yet because it is nothing but a fame that will be quenched on July 14th".

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to not hurry up to replace Mines and Steel Minister, Dr Kayode Fayemi, in his cabinet.

"The party leaders and members know that Fayemi has no use for any of them beyond the July 14 election" Fayose then appealed to those trampled under feet by Fayemi, especially those of them who were members of PDP, to return home. For us in the APC, whenever there is a primary election, it is a family affair.

"We are also glad that the Ekiti primary election has taken place and that the aspirants are working together to ensure that we win the election".

It is on record that hoodlums disrupted penultimate Saturday the APC primary held at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium after delegates from five councils of the 16 had voted, but security operatives heavily manned Saturday's election venue. I would like them to uphold the values and philosophy of the APC by joining hands to support Dr Fayemi in the forthcoming elections.

While tabling the report, the committee declared that no petition was received on the primary election conducted in the Ekiti state capital, Ado-Ekiti last Saturday, May 12.

He noted that it was only Ekiti state in the South West that was not in the APC fold, this he said, showed that the zone was APC.
