Although now working on a debut solo album, Liam recently signalled that a long-awaited One Direction reunion is on the cards.

The former One Direction singer revealed as much during an appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday (May 15), where he kicked off the show's Summer Concert Series.

Payne has so far released a handful of singles as a solo artist, including Strip That Down featuring Quavo - released in May previous year - and For You with Rita Ora.

The singer - who first found fame at 14, when he appeared on The X Factor - admitted he anxious about carving out a solo career when the boy band went on hiatus in 2015 because he wasn't sure he still wanted to be "famous".

Payne first auditioned for "The X-Factor" when he was 14 and then returned to the competition a few years later. The singer eventually managed to conquer his fears and reevaluated how he approached his career so he wouldn't be battling "tough times" going forward.

Five boys - Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik - were put together by the judges on The X Factor back in 2010.

The One Direction star has finally revealed the release date for his highly anticipated debut album and it's not far away.

Liam Payne has opened up about struggling with fame in One Direction.

She said: "I've crammed quite a lot in over the last 16 years so I've done quite a lot of the stuff that was my dream but I still have a lot of creativity".

As a solo artist, Payne achieved great commercial success with debut single, "Strip That Down", which peaked at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart and and No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

"I just met him [Jay-Z] at Coachella a couple of weeks ago", J Balvin said. "I love my life, it's been fantastic but there have been a lot of struggles to get to this point. They don't have to be a psychologist - just people who are friendly, someone to talk to", he added.
