Kristen Stewart Just Broke All The Red Carpet Rules At Cannes

Now it seems Kristen Stewart, a member of this year's jury at the film festival, has flouted the ban on flat shoes - by instead going barefoot on the red carpet.

The former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger meanwhile opted for a structured princess gown as she walked the red carpet for the same film screening.

The actress, who in the recent years earned the moniker Queen of Cannes, isn't representing a film at the 2018 festival.

Stewart was protesting against Cannes Film Festival's infamous and widely criticized heels-only rule for women.

Kristen Stewart became a household with her stint as Bella Swan in the Twilight series.

The pictures of the actress taking her shoes off literally made headline news around the world, and we can't help but think how ridiculous that is.

Within no time netizens and millennials began lauding Kristen for her bold move to put an end to the unnecessary rules. At Cannes, 82 women linked arms in silent protest on the red carpet to let the global audience know that it isn't just the film industry but women across the board who have had to face mistreatment and harassment.

But at Cannes, women also face another uphill battle.

Her Givenchy Haute Couture outfit designed by Clare Waight Keller was lauded as one of the most eye-catching seen on the red carpet yet this year.

She is being applauded by the Twitterverse for her act, ever since. She went on to say, "Things have to change immediately". You can not come in.' Then [I'm going to say], 'Neither is my friend.

"I feel like you can't ask people that any more - it's a given". "It can work both ways. I get the black-tie thing but you should be able to do either version-flats or heels", she explained.
