CBS Renews 'Elementary,' Cancels 'Kevin Can Wait': Kevin James Reacts

Man with a Plan TV show on CBS season 3 renewal

Possibly hurting the show was the fact that it was a co-production between Sony and CBS, so negotiations for another season might've taken a turn over a complicated financial arrangement.

Remini, who joined the show toward the end of season 1, also reacted to the cancellation. For me to get to work with [James] again day in and out was a godsend.

"I want to say thank you to the fantastic cast, crew, producers, and the writers of @kevincanwaitcbs".

The series, at which James surfaced as murdered police Kevin Gable, lasted two seasons. "Thank you all", he wrote. "I want to say thank you to all the fans for the love and support". In addition to Kevin James and Leah Remini, the show starred Taylor Spreitler, Mary-Charles Jones, James DiGiacomo, Ryan Cartwright, Gary Valentine and Leonard Earl Howze. I wouldn't even trade the knowledge for anything on the planet... Vanessa has left the force to launch her own private security firm, and she makes Kevin an offer he can't refuse - to be her new business partner.

"I want to say thank you to all the fans for the love and support", James said in a separate online post". Okay, perhaps a season 3. "You don't always get a second chance at something that meant so much to you and I did, and I am so grateful for it", she shared alongside a photo with her co-star Kevin. Thank you to @cbstv and @sony for a great time.

The former Friends star plays family man Adam Burns, a contractor who picks up the slack at home when his wife, Andi (Yes, Dear's Liza Snyder), returns to work; Kevin Nealon (Weeds), Stacy Keach (Two and a Half Men) and Matt Cook (Clipped) co-star.

Remini's role in season 2 was controversial.

James and the show's writers defended the decision to kill off his on-screen wife and increase Remini's role as a way to up the drama and stake on the show. "We were literally just running out of ideas'".
