BATWOMAN (and GOTHAM) Coming to the CW-DCU

Batwoman and Gotham are Headed to the Arrowverse

While we don't know much about how she will make her debut, Batwoman's arrival in the Arrowverse is huge news.

In the first-ever time the winged heroine appears on a screen of any kind, Batwoman will be introduced to the CW's Arrowverse in the television universe's next crossover event.

After Amell left the stage, CW president Mark Pedowitz added the city of Gotham will also be recognized in the Arrowverse (to clarify, not the Gotham show on Fox). "The crossover is going to make it to air in December. This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event", Pedowitz promised. Behind him was a brand new piece of key art, which showed Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), and Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) standing in a burning Gotham City.

First introduced in 1956 as a love interest and vigilante inspired by Batman's crimefighting efforts, Kathy Kane's Batwoman was pushed out of the narratives a decade later. He went on to reveal "We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse", he confirmed.

Yes! Batwoman is Finally Joining the Arrowverse!

Stephen Amell confirms this year's #Arrowverse crossover will involve a new superhero, Batwoman. When the character was rebooted in the early 2000s as a Jewish lesbian, Katherine Kane, she gained a devoted fan following.

During that crossover is when we'll apparently get our first look at The CW's version of Gotham, as well as the first ever live-action appearance of Batwoman.

Most recently, Batwoman has been one of the stars of the relaunched Detective Comics by James Tynion IV and finally has her own solo series again. Who would you like to see play Batwoman?
