Arsenal deal for Caglar Soyuncu confirmed

Arsenal set to sign Bundesliga defender Caglar Soyuncu ahead of Bayern claims Altinordu president

Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier insists there has been no contact with Arsenal over the potential transfer of Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu.

It was claimed yesterday by Altinordu's president that their former player Caglar Soyuncu is on his way to Arsenal from his current club Freiburg.

Speaking at the International Football Economic Forum, Ozkan said: 'Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal.

The 21-year-old centre-back is on loan at the Bundesliga club from Turkish second division side Altinordu and it's Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan who has claimed Soyuncu is bound for The Emirates. "Arsenal asked us for information about youth development".

The Turkey worldwide defender is a man in demand, with his exploits for club and country bringing him onto the transfer radar of clubs across Europe.

"Bayern Munich also want him but he's on the way to the Premier League". This is total nonsense.

With 22-year-old Rob Holding signing a new contract this week, 20-year-old Konstantinos Mavropanos enjoying a promising Gunners debut against Manchester United last Sunday, and Soyuncu now seemingly on board, Arsenal's future is being built. "Arsenal did not contact me and there is no offer".

Soyuncu is now under contract at Freiburg until 2021.
