Weather Service Warns of High Winds in East San Diego County

A freeze warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday

Storms that rolled through Southeast Texas on early Saturday morning were classified as damage from a thunderstorm, the National Weather Service out of Lake Charles reported.

The National Weather Service has confirmed to the Summit County Emergency Management Agency that a tornado touched down in Coventry Township overnight.

He says their goal is to wrap things up late Monday night but miss that target if more outages erupt today.

In Greensboro, police said 48-year-old Anthony George of Greensboro was killed about 5:45 p.m. Sunday when a tree fell on his vehicle. These winds were estimated at between 105-110 miles per hour.

More than a dozen homes were damaged as trees and power lines fell, blocking roads in many cases.

Duke Energy reported about 37,000 customers without power in North Carolina.

The heavy snow caused part of a hotel roof to collapse over a pool at a hotel in Ashwaubenon, which is next to Green Bay, but no one was in the pool area at the time and no one was hurt.
