Vincent Kompany's EPIC speech in Manchester pub after City become champions

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany felt they put a bad week behind them with their 3-1 victory against Tottenham at Wembley

But Kompany has yet to help City retain the title and he admitted he would love to secure back to back Premier League triumphs.

Given the way they have demolished all challengers in the league, it was apparent months ago that it was only a matter of when rather than if City would take the title.

But City, who will stage a title party when they host Swansea on Sunday, have a chance to underline their credentials over their last five matches.

Guardiola´s players will focus on those targets once they have recovered from a boisterous evening of celebrations in Manchester. The first time you think you are going to win all of them and the first time you lose it you think you are never going to win it again.

"You want to hold onto this feeling now".

"It shows what football is in Manchester".

"Today was a day for the Blues - there have been many days for the Reds before, and ultimately it's banter".

Kompany added: "The favourite one has to be the first one, it's like carrying a massive rock on your back and you get rid of it. It´s a privilege to be a part of this team".

Manchester City celebrated the title with posting this image on its official social media platforms with the caption "Our Time".

'I'd like to stay humble, it's not a dynasty, it's just one title.

City's players were not together to watch United's game, with the title-clinching result a major shock to most onlookers.

Even though Kompany was clearly ecstatic to win the league, he says he wants his team to continue their winning ways next season: "Today I'm happy, and I suppose my teammates will roll their eyes if I say this, but I kind of want to know what the reaction is going to be now".

"But in our defence, we can only be judged on a period of time, so we need, two, three or four years in a row and if at the end of this we are consistent like we have been this season then perhaps, but we have taken one step that's all we can do at the moment".

City´s title is the 24th trophy of his glittering career.

Guardiola, speaking after Saturday's 3-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley, declared his own satisfaction at the superb efforts of his squad this term.

"This club is absolutely unbelievable in all terms".
