'Crazy Rich Asians': Full Trailer for Jon M. Chu's Adaptation Is Here to Brighten Your Day

It stars Singapore-based TV presenter Henry Golding as the lead Nick Young, and Constance Wu of USA sitcom Fresh Off The Boat (2015-present) fame as his girlfriend, Rachel Chu.

Directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2: The Streets, Step Up 3D, G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Crazy Rich Asians is set to open in theaters on August 17.

Crazy Rich Asians was filmed entirely on location in Singapore and Malaysia. The trailer opens on Nick extending the invitation, explaining that now is the flawless time for Rachel to meet his family. "We've been dating for about a year now, and it's about time people met my handsome girlfriend".

Crazy Rich Asians is due to land in United Kingdom cinemas on 17th August 2018. The comedy follows the couple as Chu is plopped into Young's lavish lifestyle, and becomes the target of jealous socialites and his disapproving mother Eleanor, played by Michelle Yeoh.

New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) receives an invitation from her boyfriend Nick Young (Henry Golding) to his best friend's wedding in Singapore.

"Daaamn, Rachel, he's like the Asian Bachelor!" Thank god Rachel has the likes Awkwafina to talk her up. "I'm much more of a Harry".

When Elenor says Rachel will never be enough, latter replies, "If Nick chose me, he will lose his family and if he chose his family, he might spend rest of his life resenting you". She soon finds out Nick has omitted a few key details about his life - turns out his family is "crazy rich" and he's also one of the country's most sought-after bachelors.

It also features local actresses Fiona Xie and Tan Kheng Hua, local actor Pierre Png and blogshop model Constance Lau.
