Xiaomi Mi 6X: Chinese iPhone clone X

The Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched a year ago under the Android One campaign, the smartphone got released with the Android 7.1.2 Nougat running out of the box. Xiaomi Mi 6X will come with a 20-megapixel camera sensor at the back and the rear camera setup may also have a 12-megapixel Sony sensor.

Xiaomi is prepping a budget phone with an 18:9 screen and a dual camera. Although the company is best known for their mid-range devices at budget prices, Xiaomi also sells plenty of smartphones with flagship-level and entry-level specifications as well. The firmware does indicate that it'll have a microSD card slot at the very least. And, in China, it has recently launched the Redmi Note 5 and Mi MIX 2S.

Folks at xda-developers have managed to grab this information from the firmware files, which revealed the device's launch in India and China. Xiaomi's biggest announcement of 2018 is now the Mi Mix 2S but the company has many more devices planned for the year. The camera will feature Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS), Portrait Mode and Face Unlock. To the front, we might see a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor doing the job of capturing selfies and video calls.

Xiaomi must have been following up on this information and chose to be releasing the upcoming smartphone in a variety of colour models to command potentially higher sales.

Xiaomi Malaysia has just announced that the Redmi 5 will be available in Malaysia starting 24 April 2018. The device will be unveiled in the Chinese and Indian markets only; if the leaks are to be believed.

As far as the specifications of Redmi Note 5 are concerned it features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, a colour contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 450-nits brightness.
