Popovich: LaMarcus 'Has Been A Monster' And 'Plays Through Everything'

Kawhi Leonard injury

Gregg Popovich has done the unthinkable - DECLARE HIS ALLEGIANCE TO THE WARRIORS!

The Washington Post interviewed three life-long Spurs fans who say they have been turned off by Popovich's political commentary.

During pregame media availability, Popovich was asked if he had read the article. He noted that "the [Spurs] organization has never said a word about any opinions that I might have, about anything".

Of course, although Aldridge performed a bit more notably on the stat sheet, Durant ultimately earned the upper hand, as he led Golden State to a 116-101 win, and thus, a 2-0 cushion over the Spurs with the series set to head to San Antonio, Texas. So we can't do anything until that happens.

The thinking around the league was that Leonard would not be coming back this season, and on Monday we got word from Yahoo's Shams Charania that the two-time National Basketball Association defensive player of the year would indeed sit out the rest of the season as he continues his rehabilitation in NY. Then, we would have to decide what's going on from there.

Fan Bob Mulherin said that while he watched the Spurs-Warriors game on Saturday, his wife and son (who were also San Antonio fans) did not.

Given the way the Spurs have talked about Leonard, I'm unconvinced they deserve the benefit of the doubt, anyway.

The champion Golden State Warriors boycotted the traditional White House visit and the game's biggest star, LeBron James, openly feuded with Fox News Laura Ingraham. Leonard is not expected to make it back on the court this season. He'll likely be a first- or second-team All-NBA selection.
