Michael Cohen seeks restraining order on items seized by feds

Broidy Goes Down and Michael Cohen is Involved

According to the Times, Trump called Cohen on Friday to "check in", which is probably not wise for a president to do when it involves an associate under federal investigation - especially if that president's associate has a habit of recording conversations.

Cohen also figures in the Trump-Russia investigation through his efforts, in 2015 and early 2016, to help Trump secure a licensing deal for construction of a Moscow high rise.

On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Cohen late a year ago helped arrange a $1.6 million payment by Elliott Broidy, a top Trump fundraiser and defense contractor, to a former Playboy model who claimed that Broidy impregnated her.

Cohen is asking for the right to review the documents before investigators do, so he can determine if any information was covered by attorney-client privilege. He also claimed he was never reimbursed for the payment.

Mr Broidy said Mr Cohen contacted him after being contacted by the woman's lawyer, Keith Davidson. "The searches are the result of a months-long investigation into Cohen, and seek evidence of crimes, many of which have nothing to do with his work as an attorney, but rather relate to Cohen's own business dealings", said the filing, signed by Assistant US Attorney Thomas McKay.

"If he [Cohen] was then reimbursed by the president, that doesn't remove the fact that the initial payment violated Cohen's contribution limits", Potter told Cooper. There are reports that the firing of Rosenstein is imminent, which would pave the way for Mueller to be replaced or his investigation stymied.

Daniels will be in the courtroom Monday when Cohen appears for the hearing.

Mr. Avenatti said there is a "whole host of criminal conduct" for which Mr. Cohen could be charged, including bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign-finance violations. "These interests are so weighty I think we need more than an afternoon's adjournment", Hendon said, after Wood proposed that the court take only a short break and reconvene later on Friday. Cohen's lawyer, Stephen Ryan, declined to comment on Friday morning.

Later, he points out that Cohen's claims the he had cooperated with Congressional investigations into Russian meddling in USA politics are contradicted in an interview he did with Time.

On Friday, McClatchy reported that Mueller has evidence that Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, made a trip to Prague in the summer of 2016.

"The company has had no involvement in the matter", the statement said.

Trump said in January that he was " to being interviewed by Mueller under oath.
