West Brom captain Jonny Evans is set to snub a summer move to long term suitors Arsenal and hold out for a move to Premier League Champions elect Manchester City, according to The Mirror.

West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez has been cleared of a Football Association (FA) charge of alleged racial abuse by an independent regulatory commission. However, Jose Mourinho and his side will look to put a delay on that again, for another week, at least.

Back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero is sidelined after suffering a collision on Argentina duty, but the versatile Daley Blind is back in training and pushing for a return.

The Brighton and Hove Albion defender made a complaint against the West Brom player after he appeared to squeeze his nose and waft a hand at him.

The City manager's decision to forego the match looked justified considering West Brom's terrible form, although Jake Livermore's early attempt was a warning shot that undercooked United failed to heed. Manchester City ended their three-match losing run with a convincing win over Tottenham at Wembley Stadium.

"A team that came from 2-0 down to win its last match". United are looking to complete the league double over the Baggies for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Of course they could have wrapped up the title last weekend when they faced their rivals in the Manchester derby at the Etihad and at 2-0 up in the first half they really should have done so, to rub salt in the Red Devils' wounds.

Rodriguez confronted a five-match ban if found accountable of breaching FA rule E3, which concerns participant behaviour and cites "ethnic origin, shade, race, nationality" as aggravating parts. They have fallen behind in three of those five games but recovered to claim victory on each occasion.

However, West Brom pulled out of the deal at the last minute when they made a decision to loan Gregorz Krychowiak from PSG. We already have more points than we finished on last season and we have beaten everyone else in the league.

United are now in second place and should they lose to the Baggies then they will hand their fierce rivals the Premier League crown.
