Lascelles quite happy at Newcastle, says Benitez

Current concerns come first of course, so above all, Benitez wants Kenedy to continue impressing, scoring. and thus raising his value. The relationship between fans and players has been key this year. Unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions, the Gunners progressed to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals on Thursday in a 6-3 aggregate victory against CSKA Moscow. All things considered, though, there may be an opportunity for the hosts to cause an upset.

This match against Rafa Benitez's side doesn't really hold too much significance for the Gunners with a place in the top four all but gone, with all the focus on the Europa League. Despite the highly-rated Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being available to play, the 27-year-old England global may be the first name on Arsene Wenger's team sheet to take on the Magpies.

Wenger is likely to make several changes given the amount of travelling his squad have done in recent times.

"You don't pick the players because you want to do it - you pick them because they train well or they do well".

In eight appearances, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, but it is his confidence on the ball and progressive approach which have made him so effective for the club.

Mesut Özil is yet to feature in a game on Tyneside since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid nearly five years ago.

The future seems bright for Newcastle; their top flight status is all but secure, and there is even speculation that Ashley is once again stepping up his efforts to sell the club.

Aubamayang will start for Arsenal, as could Mohamed Elneny after his red card against Southampton was recinded, but the likes of Özil and Thursday's goal hero Aaron Ramsey may be rested.

"Some players may be exhausted, but when you are used to playing two games a week - especially at this level - I don't think it is a big advantage for us".

Rafael Benitez has called on his Newcastle players to deliver the same performance they did against Manchester United to see off Arsenal and ease themselves past the 40-point mark.

Taking everything into consideration and with little riding on the game, both sides would probably take a draw and that is what will happen.
