Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell's MRI determines left foot contusion

Mitchell left the game in the second half with left foot soreness after colliding with Thunder forward Corey Brewer but returned.

"Oh, yeah, I'm all good", George said.

"I was just limping, and they saw me limping and thought I needed to come out, "but I was just being a baby". Despite suffering a foot injury in Utah's loss to OKC Sunday, his MRI would come back clean.

In all likelihood, the Jazz are expressing some minor uncertainty as to Donovan's status as gamesmanship-it's hard to imagine them holding their star player out of a playoff game because of an ailment that most would consider minor.

Needless to say, he just really wants to play. The team has confidence that the league's top scoring rookie will suit up if he can. Everything that we know right now, he's fine.

Jazz coach Quin Snyder said all signs point to Mitchell being ready for Game 2 on Wednesday. "I'm sure he'll undergo further imaging, and we'll update that tomorrow".

The Big 3 has been able to play up to tough challenges all season with two wins against both the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors, and that trend was no different in the game on Sunday against the Jazz.
