IPL 2018: KKR vs DD: The Key Factors

Sunil Narine took three wickets as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League 2018 in Kolkata on Monday

Delhi Daredevils, having won their last match were brimming up with confidence to register another win in their name in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The 61-run fifth wicket-stand off 22 balls between Rana and Russell in many ways turned the game around for the hosts. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad live match can also be watched on JioTV and HotStar mobile apps.

The trend will be broken eventually but over the first ten games of IPL 11, only the rain-affected match between Rajasthan and Delhi has gone to the side batting first.

Earlier, Rana played a gem of an innings, selecting his shots with aplomb, as he hit five fours and four sixes to set up KKR's onslaught. Chris Lynn was also finding it hard to find the middle of the bat. If the partnership continues, there is a chance of winning for Delhi Daredevils. The clash between the two sides will see Gautam Gambhir return to his former side on Monday.

In the next over, Rana caught Iyer at first slip off Russell's bowling while the big wicket of Gambhir - who is KKR's most successful captain winning two IPLs with them - fell to U-19 World Cup victor Shivam Mavi (1/14).

It was a confusing approach after a positive start to the tournament: Gill and Mavi came in at seven and eight respectively while the latter was given just one over. He hit 5 fours and 5 sixes until KKR's skipper took his catch. Kuldeep Yadav's two wickets in the form of Glenn Maxwell and Rishabh Pant were crucial.

Kolkata won their first game against RCB and lost their second game against CSK.

DD on the other hand brought in Jason Roy in place of Colin Munro in their previous match and that turned out to be a masterstroke. Krishna, a 22-year-old pacer, has featured in only one first-class match but has picked up 6 wickets in 3 T20s and 33 wickets in 19 List A games that he has played.

Gambhir too is expected to be among runs at Eden Gardens.

Kolkata Knight Riders: in 20 overs (Nitish Rana 59; R Tewatia 3/18). On the changes front, we don't see changes for Delhi, unless a fit Chris Morris makes his way back for Dan Christian.
