How Does THE WALKING DEAD Season Finale Compare to the Comics?

Michonne in The Walking Dead season 8 finale

Fear's season premiere aired directly after The Walking Dead's Season 8 finale-in which Morgan made a decision to leave the group after (spoiler alert) winning the war against the Saviors.

After Rick slit Negan's throat echoing their confrontation in the comics, it seemed the Savior despot was doomed for sure. Letting Negan live caused Maggie (Lauren Cohan) to break down - craving vengeance for her husband - and her decision to plot against Rick was joined by, among others, Daryl (Norman Reedus), potentially placing the show's most significant players in conflict. As it turns out, the bullets Eugene made for The Saviors were booby-trapped, and when The Saviors surrounded Rick's group and fired their weapons, every gun backfired, injuring and in some cases killing the ones pulling the trigger. And compared to Carl's untimely death midway through what's been a problematic season, the idea that the show would kill off a character many viewers are growing exhausted of, Negan's death made some lovely sense - but not for long. He says that after they go home, the work begins and the new world begins.

So what now does Negan offer? Siddiq tells Rick that Carl died paying respects to a women he never knew.

Eugene is one of the most hated characters on The Walking Dead, serving at the mercy of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors. Since then, many of her waking thoughts have been fully devoted to Negan's death, however it needed to happen. "I hope that they are intrigued with these new characters, that they want to know more about them and they really like the way that they see the OGs interact with Morgan, who is an OG himself, and the new characters".

Meanwhile, at the same time that Negan's ambush of Rick is blowing up in his face, the sneak attack on the Hilltop is suffering its own setback. When are we going to get answers about that helicopter, or the ultra mod living space she was in?

In a shadowy room, straight out of the opening of The Godfather, de facto Hilltop leader Maggie firmly address right hand man Jesus. He wants everyone to go home but tells them that Negan's way of doing things is over. The biggest moment, of course, being Rick Grimes sparing Negan's life and taking him as a prisoner to rot for the rest of his life.

Could that horde be hiding the next group Rick's people go up against in the comics, The Whispers?

When does Season 9 of The Walking Dead premiere? But Rick and Michonne, Rick was wrong to do what he did. Dickens said that as the series has evolved, so has her character and she's become much stronger because she's had so much more to protect and lead.

I am pleased with the ending of season 8.

The time jump also gives Fear the Walking Dead season 4 the benefit of having everyone in the group already reunited.

Tell us what you think! Rick pursues him and eventually confronts Negan underneath a tree with two pieces of stained glass swinging from its branches - the same tree The Walking Dead has been showing glimpses of all season. It's unlikely we'll see that in the show; Daryl threatens Dwight that he'll kill him if he ever returns, and this Dwight's only interest seems to be to find Sherry.
