Carl Ikeme's Wolves promoted to Premier League

Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton Wanderers moves away from Matej Vydra during the Sky Bet Championship match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County at Molineux

They were among the favourites to achieve promotion in 2018 having spent heavily, including signing Porto's Ruben Neves for £15.8 million.

But how does Neves' strike against Derby compare to his five other long-range goals this season?

Sitting 12 points clear before the start of Saturday's Championship fixtures, Wolves were waiting on the outcome at Craven Cottage after Cardiff City had moved into second earlier in the day by winning at Norwich City.

On the field Wolves have proved unstoppable as they amassed a huge lead at the top of the table on the back of losing just three of their opening 27 games of the campaign.

Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers where Nigeria's Carl Ikeme was plying his trade before being diagnosed with cancer have been promoted to the Premier League.

Wolves are only in action on Sunday against Birmingham City but, due to Fulham dropping points against Brentford, their promotion was secured.

Derby County, surprisingly beaten 3-1 by bottom club Burton Albion, drop out of the remaining playoff places, which are now occupied by Aston Villa, who beat Leeds United on Friday night, Middlesbrough and Millwall.

They've gained 28 out of their 42 Championship video games this season and have misplaced simply six.
