Apple Partnering with Product (RED) to Help Fight AIDS and HIV

How to check your iPhone's warranty and repair coverage

Last year, the red edition of the iPhone 7 had a white front side and many users complained they did not like the combination of red and white. It has a bright red enclosure and a black front.

Notably, the Red iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in 64GB and 256GB storage guises, and will start from US$699.

Apple has announced the new red color options for its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Except for the color, the exterior design and internal hardware remain same in the new iPhone 8 series.

Other than that, it's an iPhone 8.

While the name might be a bit kooky, there is something rather special about this special edition, which is that Apple will funnel money from purchases of it to "provide testing, counseling and treatment for tens of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS".

"The more than US$160 million Apple has donated in the last 11 years today equates to more than 800 million days of lifesaving ARV medication that prevents the transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies".

In case you are wondering, the new PRODUCT (RED) iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are exactly the same as their regular counterparts, except for a new paint job.

The other difference this time around is that the iPhone 8's back is glass, whereas the 7's was aluminum. They join an existing lineup of iPhone 8 colors, such as gray, silver and gold.

Apple's red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were created to raise money for an important cause, the Global Fund for HIV and AIDs research.

As expected, Apple has released the (PRODUCT) RED version of the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus. Last year, several iPhone 7 users complained that their Touch ID stopped working then the screen was replaced by third-party fix shops.

If you think third-party screen replacement is a major issue on iPhone 8 alone, you're mistaken. The first wave of countries will get it starting tomorrow (April 10).

When the problem gained publicity, Apple apologised for the issue and quickly released an update to the "Error 53" issue.
