65th National Film Awards: 'Hebbettu Ramakka' named Best Kannada film

Fahadh Faasil bagged the Best Supporting Actor for "Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum", while Parvathy won Special Mention for her stellar performance in "Take Off", which also won the National Award for Best Production Design. This year at the 65 National film awards with a jury headed by Shekhar Kapur has chose to completely sideline Hindi and Bollywood cinema.Not a single major award has gone to any Hindi film, actor or filmmaker this year.

Water Baby has been adjudged the Best Non-Feature Film.

Parvathy won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress in 2018 for her performance in "Take Off" that released past year.

The major highlight in the award list was that of 19-year-old Bengali actor Riddhi Sen being named the best actor for his acting in the film 'Nagar Kirtan'.

The jury recognised the diversity in Indian cinema by distributing accolades to films belonging to different regional languages.

Similarly, award winning Malayalam director Jayaraj bagged the best director award for his Malayalam film 'Bhayankaram'.

Another prominent Bollywood win is the very talented Divya Dutta for her performance in the little-known environmental drama Iraada.

Elated with the news about Ghazi winning the Best Telugu film. She's probably the best actor I've ever worked with.

Ganesh Acharya won the choreography award for the Hindi film "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha". I am thankful to the government for recognising my work. "I just heard about it is it true?"

Last year, Syam Pushkaran won the award for Best Screenplay (original) for Maheshinte Prathikaram. Best Action Film went to Baahubali. Tolet, directed by Chezhiyan won the Best Film in Tamil. The film's cast also included Ashok Kumar (in a cameo) Bob Christo, Aftab Shivdasani (as a child artiste) and Annu Kapoor. Pampally won best debut for "Sinjar".
