WWE Star Jeff Hardy Arrested After Crashing Cadillac Into Guard Rail

The report says the vehicle caused an estimated $5,000 (£3,602) in damages to the guardrail, which was owned by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and around $8,000 (£5,764) worth of damage to his 2016 Cadillac CTS-V.

Wrestling Inc reports that the arrest took place after Jeff ran off the roadway around 8pm and struck a guardrail, which caused his auto to spin out into the middle of the right northbound lane. Hardy was also arrested in 2009 for drug possession, eventually serving a 10-day jail sentence. Details on the circumstances leading to his arrest are yet to be revealed.

Following the arrest, Hardy was served with a pretrial revocation of his driver's license, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 16th.

Hardy, a former World and Tag Team Champion best known as one half of The Hardy Boyz alongside his brother Matt Hardy, has been out of action in WWE since suffering a torn right rotator cuff in September.

WWE did not comment on the arrest or if this situation would delay his return to TV.

The following statement was released by WWE regarding Hardy's weekend arrest per PWInsider.

Fans have long wondered whether WWE has plans for Hardy at WrestleMania 34, but it's possible they were planning to bring him back for the big show as he was reportedly set to begin shaking off the ring rust at the WWE Performance Center at some point in March. In 2008, he won the WWE's World Heavyweight Championship twice and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship three times.
