Twitch has routinely given away free games and in-game content to Twitch Prime subscribers in the past. As recently as last month, the streaming giant teamed up with Epic Games to hand out skins and other loot from free-to-play battle royale behemoth Fortnite.

The first wave of games will come on Thursday March 15 and will include Superhot, Oxenfree, Shadow Tactics, Mr. The next round of freebies will go out on April 1, and will include Tales From the Borders, Steamworld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42, and Dubwars. All eight titles featured in the Indie Amplifier poll, which was originally only planned to deliver the top three games for free, will be included in either March and April.

But what Free Games with Twitch does differently, if it even counts, is tied to just how much value subscribers get outside of the free games.

The Amazon-owned Twitch has been running a paid membership tier for a while now, but if you haven't been tempted to join before your head might be turned by the company's new initiative.

If you're an Amazon Prime subscriber and don't take advantage of Twitch Prime, now is a good time to connect your accounts.

Free Games With Prime seems to be a similar scheme to Sony's PlayStation Plus and Games With Gold from Xbox.

Twitch has sweetened its Prime pot with the addition of Free Games with Prime, a new program with a very self-explanatory title: If you subscribe to Twitch Prime, you'll get free games every month. Other subscription services require users to maintain their subscription to keep their games.
