Trey Burton cashes in with NFC team

Trey Burton talks free agency and what he wants from the team he signs with

NFL Network's duo of Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo have the details...

Ex-Philadelphia Eagle will sign four-year, $32-million deal. Last season he caught fewer passes - 23 receptions for 238 yards - but hauled in 5 touchdown passes.

In his second season in Jacksonville in 2015, Robinson caught 80 passes for 1,400 yards, and an NFL-leading 14 touchdowns.

The Bears had already agreed to a deal overnight with wide receiver Allen Robinson, and now the deal with Burton gives them an even scarier arsenal of weapons for their young quarterback. Without Burton's contributions, though, Philadelphia might not have been in the proper situation.

It turns out his destination is Chicago, where Burton caught his first career touchdown pass from Carson Wentz in 2016. Burton earned $2.81 million last season after signing a one-year contract in April with the Eagles.

Fans around the National Football League best know him for his role in the "Philly Special" play in Super Bowl LII, where he threw a touchdown pass to quarterback Nick Foles before the end of the first half.

"With both Robinson and Burton standing 6'3", the Bears add two big targets entering their prime, a major coup for new head coach Matt Nagy as he seeks to develop Trubisky into a star.

The dual tight end thing is interesting: Shaheen was a pretty high draft pick for Chicago previous year and considered a "Baby Gronk" type.
