Splatoon 2 Getting Update 3.0 And Octo Expansion

Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion Announced, Ver 3.0 Detailed

Once completed, it will allow players to (finally) go into online battle as an Octo rather than an Inkling.

Of course there may be more packed into Version 3.0, like weapon balancing and even some fine-tuning with Salmon Run, but we'll just have to wait next month to see!

The new DLC expansion for Splatoon 2 brings a whole new single-player story to the game. New maps, new modes, new weapons, and new gear very regularly makes its way to Splatoon 2 as it did in the original Splatoon, and in the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced the first ever paid DLC for Splatoon 2 in the form of a single-player expansion. The Camp Triggerfish and Piranha Pit maps will return, joined by the entirely new Wahoo World map.

Nintendo also revealed that a big update will be hitting Splatoon 2 in April.

There will be a new rank to strive for as well. You'll play as Agent 8, an octoling trapped in a odd subterranean test facility. Rank X will now sit above S+ as the highest level you can reach in multiplayer. She'll hang out with Marie in the entry of Octo Canyon once certain conditions are met.

Cap'n Cuttlefish, Pearl, Marina, and a slew of new characters will also take part in your adventure. Purchasing the DLC early will enable you to receive Octo headgear and clothes that you'll be able to use in Splatoon 2 today.
