Sisterly act in offing

The 36-year-old Serena took centre stage as she needed just under two hours to dispatch Bertens, of the Netherlands, 7-6 (7/5), 7-5 here, Saturday.

Serena Williams set up a mouth-watering third round showdown against her sister Venus with a straight-sets victory over Kiki Bertens here at the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament.

Sky Sports Arena will be showing the tennis live from Indian Wells, with coverage running from 6pm on Monday to 5.30am the following morning.

Venus is 5-4 against Serena when they meet before the semi-finals.

"I would prefer to play someone else, anybody else, literally anybody else, but it has to happen now".

The news of her new beauty line comes just days after her first match (and win) after a 14-month break surrounding the birth of her first child, Alexis Olympia Ohanian. It's against this opponent that Serena has had some career-defining moments.

Serena was facing Kim Clijsters and although she won, fans cheered her double fault early in the match and appeared to be behind the Belgian player.

Two of the biggest names in tennis - Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova - are scheduled to play their opening Miami Open matches during the day session on Wednesday, March 21.

Charlie Pasarell, then the tournament director, said in the same USA Today story that he didn't discount Richard Williams was racially abused.

Most of those have been late-round matches, but this one comes under different circumstances with Serena being unranked due to her long layoff.

When Serena is missing some of those shots, she says she isn't being as harsh on herself as in the past with her daughter in mind.

We don't know too much about her brand yet, but Williams has spoken in the past about the difficulties of finding makeup that can withstand her training routines, meaning it's possible she'll come out with some super-long-lasting, sweat-proof beauty items (fingers crossed).
