Now the related, very successful, and highly influential PlayUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG for short) has released a mobile version of its PC/Xbox experience in the west.

While the vast majority of PUBG players play the PC version, the Xbox community has been steadily growing as well.

The report suggests that an iOS launch will follow shortly, although there's still no word on a United Kingdom release date. It's available to download from Google Play, as long as you're in Canada (or can convince the Google Play Store that you're in Canada).

This announcement comes shortly after publisher Epic Games revealed that Fortnite, another popular PC and console-based battle royale game, is making its way to mobile devices.

The biggest changes are the touch controls, which can be a problem for most mobile and tablet ports.

The news was confirmed this morning on PUBG Mobile's official Facebook page.

In addition to the accomplishment of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds hitting five million players on Xbox One, Microsoft has also chose to share an infographic with fans to show off some interesting stats for the game, which can be seen directly above.

"We're celebrating yet another milestone for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) on Xbox One: we have now passed 5M players", PUBG's Sammie Kang writes.

That's on top of a new gameplay video and infographic showcasing in-game achievements.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game become available on 12 June in the Americas and on 14 June globally. In addition, the community is receiving a free cosmetic item called the PUBG5 jacket, which can be seen below.
