The Undoing is searching for a director. Kidman again executive produces with Per Saari through their Blossom Films alongside another BLL executive producer, Bruna Papandrea, vie Made Up Stories.

Casey Bloy, HBO's president of programming, said: "We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David, and can't wait to bring this show to life".

Papandrea's Made Up Stories produced in its first-year Jennifer Kent's The Nightingale, Abe Forsythe's Little Monsters (starring Lupita Nyong'o and Josh Gad) and the TNT pilot Deadlier Than The Male written by Harriet Warner and directed by Caméra d'Or victor Houda Benyamina.

The Big Little Lies Emmy victor has signed on to star in the HBO limited series The Undoing, which will reunite her with writer David E. Kelley, TVLine has learned. "Im excited and honoured to continue collaborating with HBO and David E Kelly", said Kidman in a statement. The Undoing, starring Kidman and written by David E. Kelley, is a murder mystery set among the world of New York's private school parents. Check! Much like her Big Little Lies costar Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman is now developing one of your favorite recent books.

Kidman will star as Grace Sachs, an Upper East Side therapist who is weeks away from publishing her first book, called "You Should Have Known". Papandrea, who was instrumental in the success of Big Little Lies, split from longtime producing partner Reese Witherspoon to launch her own banner.

David added, "I loved this book".

Latest news reveals that HBO is re-teaming three of the driving forces behind Big Little Lies for the its next big project. She will reprise her role of Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies next year.

Kelley is repped by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler.

For HBO, The Undoing joins a roster of drama originals that also includes Game of Thrones, Westworld, The New Pope, J.J.
