Margot Robbie Offered Role Of Sharon Tate In New Quentin Tarantino Film

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie is in talks to star in the Quentin Tarantino-directed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".

Although Robbie had a short cameo in Brad Pitt's The Big Short, this will be the first time that the two are leading a film together as well. Robbie has been the rumored pick for months, and now Deadline reports the actress has been offered the role and is entering final negotiations to seal the deal.

Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino's upcoming movie focuses on a male TV actor named Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) who's had one hit western series and is looking for a way to get into the film business.

Robbie will be taking on the role of Sharon Tate in the movie.

The Australian star is now one of the most sought-after names in the film business, but Margot has admitted her real ambition is to helm more movies.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is slated to premiere on August 9, 2019, one day after the 50th anniversary of the tragic event which happened on the night of August 8, 1969. Tarantino's film has come under fire from Tate's sister Debra, who has accused the director of exploiting the tragic star and the 50th anniversary of her death next year (19).

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be Tarantino's first movie for Sony Pictures since the end of his relationship with The Weinstein Company in 2017. Tate was famously murdered by Manson's followers. Dalton is joined by his long-time stunt double Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt.
