Karachi set to host Pakistan-West Indies T20Is

Moin Khan unhappy with overseas players refusing to travel to Pakistan for PSL playoffs

Sangakarra was in the Sri Lankan team which was attacked by militants in March 2009 in Lahore leading to the isolation of Pakistan as an global cricket venue and forcing the Pakistan Cricket Board to not only hold its home series but also the PSL in the Emirates.

West Indies to face Pakistan in Karachi series.

Morgan, Roy and Hales have already publicly made it clear they will not be available for the play-off matches in Lahore or the final in Karachi on March 25 if their franchises qualify.

The Caribbean side had been expected to play the historic series in Lahore, home to the Gaddafi Stadium which hosted the third T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka last October.

Worldwide cricket's slow trickle back into Pakistan continues with West Indies set to play a three-match Twenty20 series in Karachi in the first week of April, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has announced.

"I have been working day and night to conclude an agreement with West Indies which I have just finalised an hour ago", Sethi said.

The south Asian country has remained largely starved of global cricket since the 2009 attacks on a bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, wounding six players and a British coach and killing eight Pakistanis. West Indies have agreed to play 3 T20 matches in KARACHI on 1,2 and 4th April. That is how we intend to put Karachi back on the cricket map once again.

Sethi also had a message for those doubting that the Pakistan Super League 2018 final will be held in Karachi. The PSL final, and now three more games for Karachi as per routine.

"Reg DIckason and his men will be here during the PSL final and we have contracted them to oversee the West Indies games as well", Sethi said.

Not only the dates, the venue for the fixtures has been changed as well.
