Gas prices in Meadville area inch lower

Average retail gas prices continue to fall in Baton Rouge

Nationally, prices fell by 1 cent to $2.51. A year ago, drivers across the nation were paying an average of $2.30 for a gallon of regular gas.

Prices in Meadville and across the state fell nearly 3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.77 per gallon Monday, according, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 5,269 gas outlets in Pennsylvania.

Prices in Northeast Ohio range from a low average of $2.33 in the Youngstown-Warren area, $2.34 in Akron, to $2.36 in Canton and $2.39 a gallon in Greater Cleveland, the AAA calculates.

"Gasoline should slide a few cents more this week, based on last week's decline in wholesale prices", said Mark Jenkins, spokesman at AAA in Tampa.

After that, the cheapest gas you will find is $2.75 per gallon on upper Peach Street. "Pump prices are sliding right now because crude and gasoline output have remained strong".

Gasoline has averaged the highest price for the month of March in four years, AAA said.

Honolulu- $3.34/g, flat from last week's $3.34/g. But prices by Monday had fallen and over the noon hour the price of the best grade of USA oil was down more than $1 to $60.93 cents.

At the close of Friday's formal trading session on the NYMEX, West Texas Intermediate, a crude oil benchmark, increased $1.92 to settle at $62.04. Here's the lowest current prices being reported in Roseville.
