Fiji beat Kenya 31-12 to win Canada Sevens

The Blitzboks, who beat the United States 29-7 in the bronze medal game, maintained their lead on 109 points, with Fiji just eight back at 101 and New Zealand third on 92.

The All Blacks Sevens are now second in the standings, 10 points behind South Africa, heading into the sixth round of the series.

Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team captain Seremaia Tuwai was speechless after winning the Canada 7s.

A determined Kenya7s fell at the last hurdle to finish second in the Vancouver leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens at the BC Place Stadium.

"We are the first team to win two tournaments this year but that will only make the other teams much harder to play against".

Willy Ambaka gave Kenya a flawless start scoring under the post with Samuel Oliech getting the extras. Samuel Oliech added the conversion for Kenya's 7-0 lead.Fiji responded nearly instantly through Josua Vakurunabili's try and Vatemo Ravouvou conversion to even the proceedings.

Kenya hit the lead again with a try to Samuel Oliech, who fended one defender and side-stepped another.

After the final, Tuwai said he was proud of his young side.

Nasilasila also featured in the lead-up to the next try, kicking into open space for Alasi Sovita Naduva, who kicked the ball on and claimed a helpful bounce to score.

Earlier in the day, Fiji edged South Africa 15-12 and Kenya beat the usa 24-19 in the semi-finals.

They lost 24-19 to championship leaders South Africa in Sunday's quarter-finals.

The USA, who won the Las Vegas leg last weekend, beat New Zealand 17-0 in the quarter-finals and England beat them 21-17 in the first classification match.

The series now heads to Hong Kong for the seventh round April 6-8.
